ASSISTANT Floater Teacher
About the position
NOPA Montessori is seeking to hire a committed and passionate educator to join our supportive team. The Floater Teacher will work primary with one classroom, but will also need to float and support elsewhere when needed. The Floater Teacher will work in collaboration with the Lead Teacher and administration team to prepare and maintain the classroom and school environment, including cleaning, arranging and stocking classroom materials. The Floater Teacher is a crucial part of fostering a loving, supportive, and calm community!
Job Responsibilities
Supervise 12 children between the ages of 2.5 - 5 years old during two daily park outings
Supervise 24 children between the ages of 2.5 - 5 years old inside the classroom
Keep the environment in order: clean, supplied and in good repair
Collaborate and communicate with classroom staff and administration
Support children during nap time
Be available for work shifts 11:00am-6:00pm Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
12 ECE Credits (Minimum of 6 units completed and enrolled in 6 additional units)
Classroom Experience with children between the ages 18 months - 2.5 years old (1+ years preferred)
Experience in a Montessori classroom is a plus!
A warm and friendly personality with the ability to be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, including children and adults
Love of children and families
Must have oral and written proficiency in the English language
Must complete post-offer, pre-employment physical, provide proof of required vaccinations and TB test
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Criminal and Background Clearance
CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to acquire)
Must be authorized to work in the US (We CANNOT sponsor visas at this time)

Substitute teachers
Job Responsibilities
Support the teaching staff to supervise children inside the classroom and during park outings
Keep the environment in order: clean, supplied and in good repair
Collaborate and communicate with classroom staff and administration
Support children during nap time
Support children with the toileting process
Be available substitute work shifts between 8:00am-6:00pm Monday through Friday
Qualifications
12 ECE Credits (Minimum of 6 units completed and enrolled in 6 additional units)
Classroom experience with children between the ages 18 months - 5 years years old (1+ years preferred)
Experience in a Montessori classroom is a plus!
